Candy Canes

Who doesn’t love candy canes? I know some people don’t like peppermint flavor, but they make candy canes in just about every flavor. Like the Jolly Rancher’s ones!

This card was quick. Using the dies from the Candy Cane dies, I die cut the canes from the Sweetest Christmas DSP. I love that they make DSP that can be die cut!

I then used the dies to make the background with Real Red and Basic White. I put that in front of some of the DSP.

The sentiment is from the Candy Canes stamp set. I die cut with one of the dies and then cut the bottom off to make it shorter.

I made a bow with two ribbons, attached the sentiment and voila! Card made!

Watercolor Techniques #1- Video!

This month, Stampin’ Up is having World Watercolor month! I absolutely love watercoloring. There are tons of ways to do it, so I’m going to show you 7 different ways. The video and this post has 3 ways with 3 cards. The next one will have the other 4 ways with 3 cards.- I’ll post that in a few days.

Here’s the video for today:

Here’s the cards I showed in my video and all the products I used:

An easy card! I watercolored the daises in about two minutes. The grass is from the Palms dies. The background paper you can only get with hostess rewards! There is a TON of paper!!

Making a Door with the Window Wishes Dies! Video!

I was looking at the Cottage Wreath bundle on my desk and trying to think of an idea. I really wanted a door to hang the wreath on, so I thought I would try to make the Window dies a door. Success!

It’s pretty easy to make the door- here’s my video showing how I did it.

I think I’ve decided what to do with the door I made in the video. I’ll post it soon!

Here’s everything I used on this card:

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

How dang cute is this? If my boys were still very little, they would have gone crazy if this came in the mail from Santa!

The Santa Express Suite is so perfect for little kids or anyone who still loves Santa. The DSP has great designs, some that work with the matching dies. That’s how I got my train- from the paper. There’s lots of different Santas on there, it would work perfect for everyone!

For the smoke coming from the train, I used the Gingerbread House dies. The sentiment (from the Santa’s Delivery stamp set) was stamped and then die cut with the smoke die. I added the candy canes stamp (also from Santa’s Delivery) and then some of the Adhesive Backed Stars.

I used the “Woo Hoo” stamp from the SAB set Amazing Phrasing. I fussy cut it.

After I assemble all of that, there was a space above the second train car that needed something. I stamped the penguin (also from Santa’s Delivery) and die cut him. Doesn’t he look like he’s saying “woo hoo!”?

The background is another one of my favorites- the Candy Cane dies. There’s so many options with that background die!

So, this card has A LOT going on on it. Not something I usually do, but the excitement of Santa deserves all that stuff!

Trees for Sale 2 Cards- one without die cutting, one with!

The Trees For Sale stamp set is so dang cute. That little dog did it for me!

BUT! The Tree Lot Dies that you can get for FREE make the stamp even better!! SAB is here! It is a FANTASTIC one!!

The card on the left is mostly stamping and the card we made at my class. The one on the right is mostly die cutting.

For my last class, I decided we would do a card with the stamps, and a little bit of the dies (the camper). If we made the card with everything die cut, everyone would need to spend the night at my house!

We stamped the trees and the signs using the Stamparatus. The green glitter washi tape is from the mini (page 57).

For the die cut card- I stamped the trees, the dogs, the lights and the posts, and the sign. Die cut all of them. Since they were die cut, I could use a different background- I used the Gingham Cottage paper from the mini catalog (page 59).

The hills were made with the Basic Borders dies.

After stamping the dog with Crumb Cake, I added some spots to him using the dark Crumb Cake Blend. (did that on the other card, too)

After die cutting the lights, instead of coloring them, I used one of my favorite things from the mini- the Pearlized Enamel Effects- page 59.

So, I think both cards are super cute, but the dies made both of them so much cutter. That camper is a rock star.

Here’s what I used on each card:

🇺🇸 Making an American Flag! 🇺🇸

Every 4th of July, I make something to honor our country’s birthday. This year, as I was making a holiday card, I die cut two of the Candy Cane dies and thought, “what about two- one Night of Navy, one Real Red, and place it on Basic White?” Boom! Red, white and blue!

After I did that, I couldn’t figure out what to place on top. I googled pictures and thought I would print one and then fussy cut it. I looked at American flags, then glanced at my desk where I saw the new Real Red & White Glimmer paper. Ding ding! I’ll make an American flag with that stuff!

It took me a while to figure out measurements, but once I made it, I was thrilled.

Here’s my video on how I made it!

Here’s a picture of how to find .15 inches on a ruler (look for the red mark):

Barn with a Lake, Trees and a Fence!

This card just makes me smile. I would love to live in place like this!

This card: every stamp and die comes from one Bundle! Christmas Barn Bundle! Page 28 of the mini catalog. One of my all-time favorites!

I stamped the barn with Soft Suede, die cut and then colored with Crumb Cake Blends. (tip: always color your images AFTER you die cut them. Nothing is worse than spending time coloring and then an error occurs when you send it through the die cut machine!)

I die cut the pond on Basic White, then colored it with the Pool Party blends. On the card base, I used Old Olive Blends on the bottom to look like grass.

I used the Balmy Blue ink with a Blending Brush first- before stamping the trees in Garden Green.

I used the Pearlized Enamel Effects Basic in red on top of the trees. This is on page 59 of the June-Dec mini catalog. I LOVE THEM!
