Wishing You a Beachy Beautiful Day

While I’m working on retired products and preparing for my new stuff, which will be here tomorrow, I have been super busy!

I was so happy Beach Days stuck around. As a Floridian, I absolutely love it! It’s only a bundle until 4/30! You get 10% off that way. After 4/30, both the stamp and the dies will still be available, but you won’t get that 10% off.

I first colored the Basic White with Misty Moonlight with a Blending Brush for my sky.

I die cut the ocean with Boho Blue cardstock and the sand with Crumb Cake. Both dies from Beach Day. I stamped on the bottom of the sand with Crumb Cake ink.

I punched a 1-3/4″ punch with Basic White, then colored with Lemon Lolly ink and a Blending Brush.

I die cut the palm trunk with Pecan Pie. For the leaves, I used Basic White and colored with Parakeet Party ink and a Blending Brush.

The lifeguard posts were die cut with Basic White. I colored them with Lemon Lolly and Balmy Blue Blends.

The sentiment stamp is straight, but because its photopolymer, I was able to bend it to go around the sun. Misty Moonlight ink.

I stamped the birds with Memento.

The card says “happy birthday” on the inside.

Measurements:

Basic White 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

Boho Blue 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″

Basic White 5-1/4″ x 4″

Crumb Cake 5-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ (sand)

Boho Blue 5-1/4″ x 3/4″ (ocean)

Scraps of Basic White and Pecan Pie

An Astronaut with a Guitar!

I came up with this idea as I was starting to pull the retiring stamps off my shelves. I thought it would be so cute and that young boys would love this card! So many retiring things on this card!

I stamped the astronaut (Reach for the Stars) and the guitar (Rock Star) on the Holographic DSP- the astronaut on the plainer silver and the guitar on the colored one. I used Versamark for both. I embossed the astronaut with black embossing powder and the guitar with silver embossing powder. Die cut. I cut the astronaut’s right hand away from his body a little bit so that the guitar would go under. It’s really hard to get a picture of the Holographic paper that looks like it does in person! Here’s one that looks a little better.

A die cut a piece of Very Vanilla with the Basic Borders dies- the one that is perfect for making hills, or in this case, a moon! I used the dies from Reach for the Stars to give the moon some craters.

I die cut the planet and the rings from the Stargazing DSP. The background paper is also Stargazing DSP.

The “happy birthday” is from the Enjoy the Rhythm stamp set. I stamped with Memento on the planet.

Measurements:

Very Vanilla 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″

Starry Sky 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″

Stargazing DSP 4″ x 5-1/4″

Very Vanilla (for the moon) 4″ x 2-1/2″

Scraps of Holographic DSP for the astronaut and guitar

Scraps of Stargazing DSP for the planet and rings

I have a PDF Tutorial for Reach for the Stars. 4 cards I won’t share anywhere else! It includes pictures, all products used, measurements and step by step instructions. You can see it here. You can see all my PDF Tutorials here.

Thanks for Making Me Smile!

I love the Notes of Nature & Lovely & Sweet bundles. I’m really happy that Lovely & Sweet is carrying over, but quite sad that Notes of Nature isn’t! They work so well together!

Anyway…

There’s a few things on this card retiring (besides Notes of Nature). The Dots & Spots die for the background and the gold Simply Elegant ribbon.

I die cut a piece of Basic White with the Dots & Spots die. I glued a piece of the Nature’s Sweetness DSP behind it.

I die cut the flowers from the Nature’s Sweetness DSP. I colored them with Calyspo Coral, Mossy Meadow and Wild Wheat Blends. I love all that gold! I glued each one in the bottom right and top left corner, cutting off what hangs over the edge.

I die cut two leaves and two flowers (from Notes of Nature) with Basic White cardstock. I used Blending Brushes with Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow inks to give them slight color. I added Wink of Stella on top.

The sentiment is from Notes of Nature. I stamped with Calypso Coral on Basic White and die cut with the Everyday Details dies. I tied a bow with the ribbon, glueing (glue dot)  to the back middle of the sentiment. I added to the card base with Dimensionals in the middle, making sure the edges didn’t have glue so I could put my leaves in flowers there.

Don’t forget I have a PDF Tutorial for Nature’s Sweetness/Notes of Nature/Lovely & Sweet. 4 cards I won’t share anywhere else. Includes pictures, measurements, all products used and step by step instructions. You can see it here.

Measurements:

Basic White 4-1/4″ x 11″ Scored at 5-1/2″

Pencil & Apple? Another Teacher Card!

I had die cut the Mini Alphabet die with Real Red because I was making a Valentine’s card. When I was done, I looked at the negative die cut and thought it would make a cute teacher card.

In the Delightfully Electric DSP (retiring), there’s sheets that are like notebook paper. Perfect!

I stamped the pencil (retiring) and the apple (retiring) with Memento. I fussy cut and colored with Blends:

  • Pencil
    • Eraser: Dark Petal Pink
    • Ferrule (the metal part below the eraser): Smoky Slate
    • Body: Dark Daffodil Delight
    • Wood: Light Crumb Cake, Color Lifter, Medium Light ML800
    • Lead: Light Basic Black
  • Apple
    • Real Red
    • Light Mossy Meadow
    • Dark Crumb Cake

I stamped the “thanks” with Memento and die cut with the Stylish Shapes.

For the “A+” I die cut the “A” with the Mini Alphabet. For the “+” I used an old cross punch and cut it so it was a plus sign.

If you like this card and want to buy it, let me know. I can make several!

Easter Excellent Eggs Cascade Card!

Easter is one week away! I showed this card during my cascade video. It has a ton of bunnies!

Here’s my video on making the card base:

You can find the Cascading Pleats instructions PDF under “instructions” on the bottom of my site from a phone, or on the side from a computer.

Most of the paper on this card is retiring. 😪 And, of course, so is Excellent Eggs.

I stamped the two eggs with Memento, die cut and colored with Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake Blends. I die cut two different eggs, one with Basic White and the other with the Three Color Glimmer (the Petal Pink one).

I stamped the “there’s no bunny like you” sentiment with Calypso Coral ink on Basic White. Die cut with the Everyday Details dies.

I stamped “Happy Easter” on Calypso Coral with Versamark. Embossed with white embossing powder. Die cut with the smallest rectangle from Everyday Details.

I die cut the chevron for all three pleats with the Textured Shimmer paper (white).

I stamped all the bunnies with Memento and colored them with Petal Pink Blends, just the ears and nose.

A die cut a Perennial Postage die with Basic White.

All the DSP on this card is from the Subtles 6×6 DSP.

A Beach Day Cascade Card!

A quick video showing it in action!

I LOVE this card. I had so much fun making it! Beach days are part of my growing up and they are fun, relaxing and very tiring (the sun!!)! The PDF instructions for Cascade cards can be seen under “instructions”. It’s on the right side on a computer and on the bottom from a phone. Here’s my Cascade video:

I started with coloring the layers and the last page (which is directly on the card base. I just put the pleats behind it when coloring). I used Crumb Cake for the sand, Azure for the sea and Balmy, Lemon Lolly and Poppy for the sky. I added some Shimmer paste to the sea to look like waves/ripples. Just stick the pallete knife (the longest one) sideways into the jar and tap on the cardstock sideways. Here’s my short video on that:

I stamped the lifeguard post with Memento and then colored with Crumb Cake and Real Red Blends. It’s on Dimensionals.

The beach ball is Memento with Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lolly, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple and Night of Navy Blends.

The palm tree trunk is Pecan Pie, the leaves and grass are Basic White colored with Granny Apple Green ink and a Blending Brush.

The umbrella is Memento with Lemon Lolly and Poppy Parade Blends.

The surfboard was stamped with Poppy Parade on Basic White and I then used a Blender Pen to bleed the color a little bit.

The seagull was stamped with Memento and colored with Gray Granite Blends. The fence is Crumb Cake.

I stamped Happy Birthday with Memento on Basic White and then die cut with Stylish Shapes. I stamped the sand castle on the bottom right with Crumb Cake.

I stamped the sentiment with Misty Moonlight above the flowers.

I added a few Cork Rounds and DONE!

A Cross with a Crown- He is Risen!

I try to make a card each Easter with a cross. I made one last year you can see it here.

I decided I wanted to make one similar, but I wanted Jesus’s crown on it.

I used the two smallest dies of Deckled Circles to make the base of the crown- with Early Espresso. For the thorn, I used dies from Lifetime of Love with Gold Foil. My husband thought it was perfect!

The cross is Crumb Cake embossed with Timber 3D embossing folder (all measurements below).

I wanted there to be a hill or dirt at the bottom. Seaside Bay dies have a die that works! I used Early Espresso.

For the background, I used Basic White and colored lightly with a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink. I embossed with the Distressed Tile embossing folder. I then used my scissors along the edges to make them a little distressed.

“He is Risen” is from the Easter Lilies stamp set. I stamped with Versamark on Basic White and embossed with gold powder. I then die cut with the smallest rectangle from the Everyday Detail dies.

Measurements:

Basic White 4-1/4″ x 11″ Scored at 5-1/2″

Basic White 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″

Crumb Cake 3/4″ x 4″ (cross)

Crumb Cake 3/4″ x 3″ (cross)

Early Espresso 4-1/8″ x 1-1/8″ (hill)

Scraps of Basic White, Early Espresso and Gold Foil
