Making a Multi Color Plaid Background!

I love everything plaid. When I got the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing folder, I had tons of ideas.

I used both the Changing Leaves (online) and Autumn Expressions Bundles for this card.

I made a frame using the Deckled Rectangles dies and the Textured Metallic Specialty Paper.

Want to see how I did the background? I will make another card using this technique this Tuesday on my Facebook Live!

Halloween Cascading Card I made on FB Live Last Night!

OK, that Live was a little better. Although I did hit mute accidentally at the end. Another lesson learned!

The video can be seen on Facebook or YouTube. Here’s my original Cascading video:

Toil & Trouble with Tissue Paper

This card has the tissue paper technique for the background. You can see my video here:

I used Basic Gray and Gorgeous Grape ink on it. Instead of using Basic White behind the tissue paper, I used Basic Gray. I added some dots with the Pearlized Enamel Effects in black. They’re hard to see, but they are there!

For the pinwheel, I colored a piece of Basic White with Pumpkin Pie and Gorgeous Grape with a Blending Brush. I die cut the pinwheel, then added rubbing alcohol and Memento refill to a spritzer and spritzed on top of the pinwheel. I die cut the broom with the same paper, but did not add black to it.

The center of the pinwheel was die cut from the tissue paper.

For the sentiment, I just wanted part of it. I inked up just “toil & trouble” and fussy cut it.

I added the Basic Black frame using the Deckled Rectangles dies.

Next week’s FB Live will be a Halloween card!

My PDF Tutorial for 4 cards I won’t share anywhere for Potions & Spells can be seen here.

No Halloween Paper? Here’s an Idea!

So, this year (so far), no Halloween paper. So, I have several cards where I made the background with ink or used another paper to make it look like Halloween!

This is one of them!

For the background, I used the Naturally Gilded paper. The white one with silver trees. I used my brayer and Memento ink to color the white part. The silver trees stay silver! Just go over the paper with a paper towel to take off any ink that’s on top of the tree.

I stamped the cat with Versamark on Basic Black. Heat with silver embossing powder, die cut.

The broom is Silver Foil and Basic Black.

For the “BOO”, I die cut the letters with the Mini Alphabet dies and the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer paper. I used the white. With a spritzer, I added rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Memento Ink Refill. Spritzed on top of the letters, let dry.

Don’t forget I have a PDF Tutorial for Potions & Spells! You can see it here!

Happy Birthday, America!

I bought the Light the Sky stamps and dies specifically for a 4th of July card!

I started with coloring my background with Misty Moonlight on Basic White with Blending Brushes. I used the Beach Day dies on Crumb Cake for the bottom of the card.

I die cut three different fireworks from the Misty Moonlight colored Basic White. I took scraps of Real Red, Night of Navy and Basic White and glued them behind the fireworks. I then added Iridescent Foil Gems to the center of each one.

I stamped the Light the Sky sentiment on the bottom right.

I die cut the Mini Alphabet dies using the white glimmer paper from the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer Specialty paper. Using Rubbing Alcohol and ink refills in a Spritzer,  I changed the color of the “U” and the “A”. Here’s a video showing how I did that on my 4th of July card from 2022! I have that one displayed in my stamp room!

I make a 4th of July card every year. You can see the last two here:

Congrats Grad of 2024!

We have one of those in our house! Our middle son is graduating this year. Still doesn’t seem real! I took two pictures- it’s hard to show the embossed images sometimes!

This card was pretty easy. I stamped the Watercolor World on Basic White with Crumb Cake. I then die cut with the biggest Deckled Rectangles dies.

I stamped the cap and the sentiment on Basic Black with Versamark. I embossed with gold embossing powder. I fussy cut the cap and die cut the sentiment with Nested Essentials dies.

The ’24 is with the Gold Foil paper and the Alphabet a La Mode dies. Use Adhesive Sheets on those!!

Measurements:

Basic White 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

Basic Black 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
