Astronauts on the Moon!

I walked into my stamp room wanting to make a card with an astronaut on the moon. Since SU doesn’t have a really big circle die, I thought I could make the moon with the Basic Borders dies. That makes it so you just see a part of the moon, not the whole thing.

I die cut Very Vanilla with the Basic Borders (5-1/4″ wide) and the embossed with the dies from Reach for the Stars that give it a look like craters. I then used Crumb Cake with a Blending Brush just to give it a little color.

I decided to reverse stamp and die cut the astronaut so they could “hold” a sentiment. Here’s my short video on how to do this:

I stamped the sentiment from Reach for the Stars with Blueberry Bushel on Basic White. Die cut it with one of the Countryside Corners dies.

I wanted to add a star, so I used the Beautiful Balloons dies with the Holographic Speciality paper.

The background paper is from the Stargazing DSP. On the other side is lots of “planets”. I saw the one that looked like Earth, so I die cut that with the Reach for the Stars dies. I thought it looked really cool as a view from the moon.

And! I have four more cards using Stargazing/Reach for the Stars! I won’t show them on here, but you can purchase a PDF tutorial. It includes pictures, measurements, supplies used and step by step instructions! I have PDFs available for other stamp sets, too. Here’s where you can see them!

Have a Sweet Christmas! Sweet Gingerbread is retiring! And will be on sale tomorrow!

Sweet Gingerbread is one of my favorites in the mini catalog. It is so whimsical and cute! The dies are the best- the “hill” die I have used on so many cards. The dies will be 40% OFF starting tomorrow!! The original price is $33, now it will be $19.80! Huge deal!

I made this card about 2 weeks ago. I planned to do a video on how I made the circle on the background. Then it was Thanksgiving. Everyone eats at my house. Then, the day after Thanksgiving? I’m sure a lot of you do this too- It’s time to get the Christmas stuff out! I finally finished my job today. I decorate three trees and put all the other stuff we have on display. So glad to be done! Just need my husband get the outside lights done! So, I’ll make the video soon!

edited 1/13/23: Here’s the video!

I stamped the house with Versamark on Sahara Sand paper. I embossed with white embossing powder. The door, windows, hearts and sentiment are with Sweet Sorbet. The trees and the wreath were with Soft Sea Foam. I used the Sweet Sorbet Blends to make the berries on the wreath pop.

Here’s everything I used: (I listed the bundle and the stamps and dies separately. With this sale, you don’t want to order the bundle!)

Glimmer Ornaments! LOTS of Glimmer!

OK, taking pictures of sparkly cards is hard. I think I’ve taken about 25 of them, so this was the best one. But it still doesn’t show how glittery it is. ugh.

If you saw my Yeti card using the Picture This dies, I wanted to use the part I didn’t use for that card. Lots of glimmer! Here’s the Yeti card:

Is It Christmas, Yeti?

I put the negative piece, from the Yeti card, on Basic White. I then die cut two of the Stitched Rectangles dies to make a frame using Tahitian Tide paper. I then used the Picture This die on scrap glimmer paper- just putting enough paper under the different circles. I used the Spruced Up Outlines dies with the White glimmer (from the mini) for the tops of the ornaments.

I added a few more ornaments on the card- ones that didn’t fit inside one of the empty circles.

I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Scottie on white with Tahitian Tide ink. I die cut it with the Stylish Shapes dies.

The ribbon on the side is the really pretty Metallic Woven Ribbon in the main catalog.

How to Make Those Gnomes DANCE! Video!

Who doesn’t love to see gnomes dancing??

I saw that SU had shared this technique at a recent event. What a great idea! I’ve used it on two different cards, this one and a witch one that I’ll share in a few days. It is really so easy and fun!

Here’s my video of making this card:

Perfect Partners: Pig on a Hill in a Bike!

I wanted to make my pig ride by on hill with water nearby. So, here’s what I came up with! 😂

I used lots of dies on this card. Obviously the Birthday Piggy dies (only 10 days left to get it!). I also used the Waterfall Canyon dies (again, only 10 more days) for the grass, the Basic Borders for the water, and the Gingerbread House for the hills.

I first used my Blending Brushes with Balmy Blue for the sky and Bermuda Bay for the water.

I added the Embossing paste on the water like I’ve done in many cards, but I also used the Paste for clouds. What I did was die cut two clouds from the Waves Dies, then used that a stencil with the Paste. ⬇️

These pigs are so dang cute! Here’s the video on how I make the ocean:

Perfect Partners: Apples for a Friend

I wanted to make a fancy card with the apples. I colored them with Daffodil, trying to make them look like yellow apples, but they kinda look like lemons! Either way works for a friend card.

The Fabulous Frames dies are one of my favorites. I’ve used it on many cards. For this one, I used it with the Glimmer paper that’s in the mini catalog. The paper is so pretty- three colors: Vanilla, Evening Evergreen and Gold. You could make some really fancy cards with this!

After I colored the apples and leaves, I put Wink of Stella on all them. A very sparkly card!

Snowy Scene thru a Window

We made this card at one of my classes. It’s so pretty and doesn’t take long!

When you die cut the window from window wishes, the inside piece comes out and you can use that for the window, or for something else. I first did a light Balmy Blue background, then stamped the trees (also from Window Wishes) with Early Espresso and Garden Green. I then added some snow with the puff paint.

I wanted to make the window look like it was inside a house looking out. The pretty Petal Pink DSP is from the host DSP Design a Daydream. If you place an order over $150, I suggest getting that paper. You can use it for lots of cards!

On the bottom, I had a piece of Basic White that was 4 x 1.5. I scored every 1/4″ using the Simply Scored. It makes it look like beadboard! I then placed a very small piece (4 x 1/4) of white on top.

For the sentiment, I used the Christmas Banners. You can stamp the sentiment and the banner before die cutting, but Ii did it different. First, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed with white powder. I then die cut it. Then, using Petal Pink ink, I stamped the banner. It’s hard to get it on there perfectly, but I liked the way it looked.

Perfect Partners: Waterfall with Mountains!

I showed this card in my video about the Perfect Partners. Don’t forget my really good deal!

This card was fun to make, but it took a little bit of time.

The Waterfall dies are awesome- there is a ton! I die cut everything on this card.

I wanted to make mountains behind the waterfall and the Mountain Air is perfect for that!

Palm Trees for Christmas!

You may have seen the video of me making a background that was a sunset and an ocean. I showed this card in that video. I have made other cards that have palm trees with “lights” on them. Reminds me of one of my favorite commercials- The Corona beer one around Christmas time.

Here’s the video of me making the background (there’s two- one very quick and one longer):

This card just used one kind of paper- Basic White! I don’t think I’ve ever done that before!

The palms from the Palms Dies were die cut and one flipped over- so they would lean towards each other. I colored them with Soft Suede and Granny Apple Green.

For the rhinestones, I used the red ones and the basic ones. For the basic ones, I colored them with the Shaded Spruce Dark Blend.

The sentiment is from Sunkissed and die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.

The birds are from the Waves dies.

Love these types of cards! (as you can probably tell since I’ve made so many!)
