Shuttle Taking Off in the Daytime!

Growing up in Central Florida on the East Coast, I saw lots of shuttles take off. Some during the day, some at night. Since I’ve made so many cards with Reach for the Stars/Stargazing, I wanted to make one that doesn’t use the planets, stars, etc.

I stamped the shuttle with Memento on Basic White and die cut.

I die cut the flames with the Stargazing DSP. I cut four of them.

The sun is a die from the Hey Chuck dies. I die cut with Basic White, then used a blending brush with Lemon Lolly ink to give it a little color.

The hill was made with the Basic Border dies. Old Olive cardstock.

The grass is from the Playing in the Rain dies. Old Olive.

For the background I had a 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ of Basic White. Using Blending Brushes, I used Misty Moonlight and Old Olive inks.

I looked through my stamp sets and wanted to find a perfect sentiment. When I saw “look at you go” in the Fun on Wheels stamp set, I thought that would be perfect. A congratulations card!

Don’t forget- I have PDF Tutorials for different cards- Reach for the Stars in one of them! You can see them here

Skating Chucks!

I wanted to use every chuck on this card. To fit them all, I had to make a slimline card. I’ll have the dimensions and colors used below.

Slimline cards are 8-1/2″ x 7″. The 7″ side is scored at 3-1/2″. For the card front, my size is 8-3/8″ x 3-3/8″. SU doesn’t sell envelopes for these anymore, but these cards do fit in a #10 envelopes- the usual size for regular mail. They are 4-1/8″ x 9-1/2″.

Enough math! 🤣 Let’s talk about the coloring.

The only paper used on this card is Basic White. I colored the card front with Azure Afternoon with a Blending Brush.

For the hills, I used the Basic Borders dies and cut two pieces with Basic White. I colored them with Lemon Lime Twist ink with a Blending Brush. I slightly layered one over the over and adhered at the bottom of the card.

For the chucks, I colored them with Blends. Main parts of them are Lemon Lolly, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral. For their eyelids, I used Crumb Cake. For their beaks, I used Petal Pink. For the wattles and the one tongue, I used Cajun Craze.

Their skateboards are Balmy, Lemon, Granny, and Calypso. The bottoms and the wheels are Smoky Slate.

Cakes are Balmy, Lemon, Granny, and Calypso.

The sun was die cut with Basic White and I colored with Lemon Lolly with a Blending Brush. I made it very light.

A very bright card- perfect for a kid!

Hey Chuck! Rise and Shine! It’s Your Birthday!

I had an idea to use the Patchwork Pieces again with just one chick (chuck). Since one of the stamps says “Rise and Shine!” I thought it would be cool to have a background that is bright and cheerful.

I took a piece of Basic White and used Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks with my Blending Brushes. Then I die cut the Patchwork Piece.

I took another piece of White (5-3/8 x 4-1/8) and die cut the Patchwork again- right in the middle. I then embossed with the new Exposed Brick embossing folder.

I die cut the Patchwork again so it would be easy to assemble the pieces.

The chick/chuck and cake are stamped with Memento and then colored with Blends: Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler.

I stamped the two sentiments with Memento and then die cut with one of the Nested Essentials dies. I then used some Lemon Lolly ink with a Blending Brush.

A pretty fast card!

Hey Chuck! It’s Your Birthday!

If you watched my video of more new stuff, you might have heard how excited I was about the Hey Chuck bundle. These chickens are quite cute!

For this card I only used Basic White and Crumb Cake cardstock. Everything on the front is Basic White colored! Tons of ink and Blends!

For the hills, I used the Patchwork Pieces die- the wavy one. I die cut it with Basic White and used the two from one edge.  I colored it with Blending Brushes and used Granny Apple Green and Soft Sea Foam inks.

The background is Boho Blue and Crumb Cake inks with Blending Brushes.

The sun (to me, the best die in the Hey Chuck dies!) is Basic White colored with Daffodil and Pumpkin Pie with the Blending Brushes. I stamped the sentiment on top with Memento Ink.

Blends for the Chickens:

Standing chick:

Pretty Peacock

Calypso Coral

Granny Apple Green

Skateboarding chick:
