Trick or Treating! Scary Cute!

OK! Time to take a little break from making Christmas cards. Halloween is BEFORE Christmas!

I made this card using one of the embossing folders that is meant for a winter card. I tried about 4,000 different ways to do it, but I finally came up with this and liked it. It’s a little “sloppy” but I liked making a Halloween card that was watercolored.

I embossed on Shimmery White cardstock. I used a bone folder and tried to push down the trees and snowflakes. I then started coloring the houses and the sky. Here’s what colors I used of the Watercolor Pencils:

Granny Apple Green

Gorgeous Grape

Basic Gray

Pumpkin Pie

Using my Water Painters, I blended the pencil marks and then let it dry.

I then stamped the trick or treaters with Basic Gray. Since there are lines and dots on the embossing folder, the ink would not go into those lines and dots. I got my Blender Pen out and used it with the Basic Gray ink and filled them.

I added some bats and a moon over some of the trees/snowflakes embossed areas.

The grass on the bottom was made with the Majestic Mountains dies. If you saw my video of the mountain card I made, you can see that when you stamp the lines of trees, and die cut it, the piece that comes off looks like grass! I just layered two together.

I then added some of the Pearlized Enamel (in black) along the edge of the houses. I then went a little crazy and started adding dots all over the whole card.

The sentiment was stamped on Basic White and then I stamped some bats on the top and bottom. I then put Gorgeous Grape watercolor pencil all over and blended with a Water Painter.

This is not a typical card I would make!

Here’s everything I used:
