Glow in the Dark Tree- Merriest Trees!

Here’s a non-traditional Christmas card! I showed this card in my Glow in the Dark video-link below. I had a lot of fun making this.

All three trees (from the Merriest Trees bundle) were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green. Since the middle one is on Glow in the Dark paper, it looks different than the other two.

The sentiment is from the Merry & Bright stamp set. Fussy cut it.

The background paper and “frame” is from the Merry Bold & Bright DSP. It’s part of the Merry Bold & Bright suite. As is the foil paper I used for the stars.

The frame was made with the Deckled Rectangles dies. I make lots of frames with dies like that- you die cut the biggest one, then use a smaller die on the middle to make it a frame.

I have several PDF Tutorials for sale now- I have 7 different ones. If you have suggestions for ones from the mini catalog (I already have Bag of Bones and Tricks & Treats done) let me know! I own most of the stuff in the mini (don’t tell my husband) so I can do just about any of them! I have a few I’m working on, but would love to know what people would like to see! Check them out HERE

Candy Corn that Glows in the Dark! A New PDF! Tricks & Treats!

Tricks & Treats  (page 50) is really dang cute, but I found that I just couldn’t come up with ideas. Until this weekend, I made 8 cards with it!

I love candy corn. Not just to eat it (which I REALLY love), but I think it is always so cute!

The dies in Tricks & Treats has lots of stand alone dies. The candy corn is one of them! There are 3 candy corn dies- the whole body, the top and the bottom.

For the body, I die cut three in Pumpkin Pie and two is Fresh Freesia.

For the bottom, I die cut three in Lemon Lolly and two in Gorgeous Grape.

For the top, I cut all 6 with Glow in the Dark paper.

The bottom is Crumb Cake, embossed with the Timber embossing folder, then with a sponge dauber, I added some Versamark to some spots to give it a distressed look. I die cut the top with one of the Tricks & Treats dies.

The ribbon is the Black & White Gingham ribbon. I colored it with Pumpkin Pie and Fresh Freesia Blends.

“Happy Halloween” is a stamp from Pick of the Patch (page 51). I stamped with Pumpkin Pie and die cut with Stylish Shapes.

The background is embossed with one of the Basic 3D embossing folders.

The sparkly stuff is two things: the purple is the Tinsel Gems three pack. The orange and yellow is Rhinestone Basic, colored with Lemon Lolly and Pumpkin Pie Blends.

Now, I made a PDF Tutorial using the Tricks and Treats. 4 cards, some of which are my favorites! You can see that PDF here

Glow in the Dark Pumpkins and a Skeleton!

Yes, yes, yes. I am a little bit obsessed with the Glow-in-the-Dark paper! Did something a little different on this one.

I stamped the pumpkins from Pick of the Patch bundle (stamps and a punch, page 51) with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry on the Glow in the Dark paper. I used the punch for both sizes of pumpkins and the stems. As I showed in my video, when you stamp color on the Glow in the Dark, it comes out much lighter and slightly different than it would on Basic White. Here’s the video:

My skeleton is like a lot of my other cards- stamped with Versamark on the Glow in the Dark paper, embossed with black embossing powder and then die cut.

The grass is from the Bag of Bones dies- I used Basic Gray cardstock.

The background paper is from the Stargazing DSP in the main catalog.

The “Happy Halloween” is a stamp from Bag of Bones. I stamped with Versa, embossed with copper embossing powder.

Don’t forget:

I have a PDF Tutorial for 4 cards from the Bag of Bones/Them Bones! These are not cards I show anywhere else. I have other PDF Tutorials, too! Check out Bag of Bones/Them Bones here!

I also have a PDF for Pick of the Patch! You can see it here!

Grassy Hills! Video!

Man, I’m having fun with that Bag of Bones/Them Bones! It makes GREAT Halloween Cards!

Here’s the video (that shows some of my cards that are PDF Tutorials!)

The skeleton is from the Them Bones DSP. It can be cut with one of the dies.

The tombstones are Basic Gray.

The “Trick or Treat” is from the Tricks & Treats stamp set (page 50). I die cut it with one of the Bag of Bones dies. To color the stamp, I used Basic Black, Basic Gray and Pumpkin Pie Write markers.

For the hills, I used the Basic Borders dies and the grass from the Bag of Bones dies.

A few Glow in the Dark things on this card- the bottom grass and the moon made with the Stylish Shapes dies. And yes, I took this picture in my laundry room. It’s the darkest room in my house. Since I took the picture during the day, I had to take it in there!

Glow in the Dark Christmas Lights! Video!

I had so much fun making this. When I was done and turned the lights off, I was thrilled!

I made a somewhat short video on different ways to use the Glow-in-the-Dark paper:

Most of this card uses the new Merry & Bright Bundle/Merry Bold & Bright Suite- page 8-9.

The background paper is from the Merry Bold & Bright DSP.

I stamped the lights with Melon Mambo, Blueberry Bushel and Lemon Lime Twist. All on the Glow-in-the-Dark paper. I dipped them in clear embossing powder, heat set and then die cut.

The light string (die) is Shaded Spruce.

The stars (die) are with Silver Foil.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and then embossed with silver embossing powder.

The scalloped edge is from the Scalloped Contours dies.

The die used for the sentiment is from the Nested Essentials dies.

Skeletons Crawling Up a Hill!

I came up with this idea as I was falling asleep. Of course. Had to remember the next day. It took me a few hours but I did!

I thought it would be so cool to see skeletons climbing up a behind a hill. It would be kinda scary, but since these skeletons have a smile, it tones it down a bit.

  • I first made my background with Basic White cardstock (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″), Blending Brushes and these colors:
  1. Gorgeous Grape
  2. Melon Mambo
  3. Granny Apple Green
  4. Daffodil Delight
  5. Misty Moonlight
  • I die cut the moon and stars with Basic Black.
  • The hill is made with the Basic Borders dies and Basic Black cardstock (1-1/2″ x 5-3/8″). After die cutting, I embossed with one of the new embossing folders: Cheery.
  • I stamped the skeleton body and arms twice with Versamark on Basic Black. Embossed with white embossing powder and then die cut. Tuck those skeletons behind the hill.
  • The tombstone was die cut with Smoky Slate. The middle section was first stamped with Memento on Basic Gray then die cut.
  • The rose was Versamark on Basic Black with silver embossing powder.
  • I added some bats from the Glow in the Dark Bats & Ghosts.

I have a PDF Tutorial for 4 cards from the Bag of Bones/Them Bones! These are not cards I show anywhere else. I have other PDF Tutorials, too! Check out Bag of Bones/Them Bones here!

How About Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletons?

How flipping awesome is this? Glow in the dark skeletons! Here’s what they look like when the lights are on:

I will tell you that the Bags of Bones stamps and dies have lots of VERY little stamps and dies. There’s one big skeleton, one upper body of a skeleton, then there are many arms, legs accessories to make other skeletons. On this card, the middle one is the big skeleton, the other two are the upper body and two arms and legs. All stamped on the Glow-in-the-Dark paper with Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. The embossing powder really sticks to the Glow in the Dark. You can see some black dots on the sentiment and a few on the skeletons.

I wanted to add hats and shoes to all of them- I used Pecan Pie, Basic Black and Basic White.

The bow ties, bones and bats are also with the Glow in the Dark.

The “Boo to You” circle is  Glow in the Dark die cut with one of the circles from the Reach for the Stars dies.

All the Bag of Bones/Them Bones stuff can be seen on pages 48-49 in the upcoming mini catalog.

Here’s my video of ways to use the Glow in the Dark paper:

Merriest Trees & Rocking Horse!

I made my first holiday card! I had fun making this!

The tree was stamped with Shaded Spruce and die cut. Merriest Trees Bundle. Page 12.

The sentiment is from the Merriest Trees stamp set; I die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.

The tree lights and the star were all die cut from the Merriest Trees dies using Gold and Silver Foil DSP.

The tree stand is from the Merriest Trees dies. I used the Joy of Christmas DSP- it looks like wood! Page 29.

The presents are from the Rocking Horse stamp set and dies. I stamped with Memento and colored with Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam, Bronze and Real Red Blends. Page 18.

I wanted the background to look like a home. The green paper is from the Joy of Christmas DSP. I cut it 4″ x 5-1/4″.

I added a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Basic White that I had scored every 1/4″.

I die cut the scallops with the Scalloped Contours dies with Basic White. I then embossed it with the Basic 3D Embossing Folders.

I added the edges on the top with three pieces of Basic White- all 1/4″ wide. One is 4″, the other two are 2-3/4″. I cut the three corners on one side of each piece so they look mitered.

I have a PDF Tutorial for 4 Merriest Trees cards. They won’t be shared anywhere else. You can see them here
