Trusty Tools for a Teacher Card!

When I saw that pencil stamp and die in Trusty Tools, I knew this would make a great teacher card!

I wanted the background to look like a chalkboard. So, I die cut the Radiating Stitches biggest die with Crumb Cake, then cut the next size out of the middle to make a frame. With Basic Black cardstock, I used a sponge and some White ink to make it look like how most chalkboards in classrooms look!

I stamped the pencils 4 times with Memento, die cut and colored with Blends.

I wanted something for the pencils to be in, so I looked through my dies and thought one of the vases from Earthen Textures would work. I die cut once with Basic White, then once with the Real Red DSP from the Regals DSP (to make it a little sturdier).

The “A” is from Alphabet a La Mode dies. The + sign was from the middle of the weather vane die from the Hey Chuck dies. Use Adhesive Sheets on those! Makes it much easier.

The “thank you” is from Trusty Tools. I stamped with Versamark and used white embossing powder.

Measurements:

Real Red 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

Basic Black 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″

Crumb Cake 5-1/4″ x 4″

Hello Spring with a Bee and a BIG Flower!

I started with the Bee My Valentine a little late (after Valentine’s Day) so I had to come up with ideas to use it for other types of cards! This one was so much fun!

Since the bee is kinda big- I needed a big flower to make it look right. I have many, many, many dies with flowers and none were the right size. So, I looked through all my dies and found one that would work! The Beach Day dies have a surfboard die (that coordinates with the Beach Day stamp set) and it made a big daisy!

I die cut the surfboard 12 times with Basic White. The center of the flower is from the Paper Florist dies. It’s Lemon Lolly. I added some Lemon Lolly to the flower with a small Blending Brush.

I stamped the bee with Lemon Lolly and Smoky Slate.

The “hello spring” is from the Excellent Eggs stamp set. I stamped with Smoky Slate on Lemon Lolly and die cut with Nested Essentials.

Measurements:

Basic White 5″ x 10″ scored at 5

Smoky Slate 4-5/8″ x 4-5/8″

Lemon Lolly 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″

Bee Mine DSP 4-3/8″ x 4-3/8″

Scraps of Basic White

Scraps of Lemon Lolly

Hope Your Day is Sweet!

The Most Adored DSP can be used for not just Valentine cards! This card has a lot of Sweet Sorbet on it- which the DSP does not have that color. Still works!

This card was pretty easy. I stamped the ice cream twice with Sweet Sorbet, then using a Blending Brush I added some more Sweet Sorbet.

The sprinkles are Real Red cardstock (on Adhesive Sheets).

The cone was stamped with Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake, die cut, then die cut with the die that gives it texture.

The sentiment was stamped with Sweet Sorbet on Basic White and then die cut with Stylish Shapes dies.

The cherry was stamped with Memento and then colored with Real Red and Crumb Cake Blends.

Measurements:

Basic White 8-1/2″ x 7″ scored at 3-1/2″

Happy Father’s Day with a Toolbox!

You have less than 2 weeks to get SAB stuff- including the Trusty Toolbox DSP!

I die cut the toolbox with Gray Granite. To add some lines on it, I used a ruler and the Smoky Slate Blends.

I stamped the hammer, tape measure and the wrench with Memento Black. I colored them with Gray Granite and Blueberry Bushel Blends. Since there isn’t a Crushed Curry Blend, I used a Blender Pen and the Crushed Curry ink to color.

The drill was cut with Blueberry Bushel and silver paper.

The background paper is the Trusty Toolbox DSP. I added the top border with Gray Granite and the Basic Borders dies.

I stamped the sentiment on the toolbox with Blueberry Bushel ink.

Measurements:

Basic White 5-1/2″ 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

BlueBerry Bushel 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″

You’re as Sweet as Honey

Dang it! I totally forgot about these bees! I’ve been busy with lots of family things and finally have some free time (until track starts in 2 days!). I looked through my stuff and saw the Bee My Valentine bundle and came up with a million ideas. Even though all the sentiments are Valentine related, I think the bees can be used for other cards, too.

This card is a little different- it’s a rocker card! It’s easy:

Cut a standard size card: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″.

Fold in half.

Using the second biggest Deckled Circles dies,  put the edge of the die all the way to the bottom, where the card opens. The upper part of the die will hang over the top- where the fold is. Die cut.

Using a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of DSP, die cut with the third biggest Deckled circles dies. Again, put the edge of the die all the way to the bottom.

For the bees, I stamped with Lemon Lolly and Memento.

I stamped the heart with Sweet Sorbet and punched.

The honey pot on the bottom is from the Bee Mine DSP. I just fussy cut.

I stamped the sentiment with Sweet Sorbet.

I’m working on a PDF and a video to show how to do all this! Soon I promise!

I have a PDF for the Bee My Valentine! 4 cards: Valentine, Love, Thank You and Happy Birthday. I wanted to share how you can use Bee My Valentine for more than Valentines. You can change the sentiment on any of those if needed. You can see it here!

I Adore You

Lots of die cutting on this card!

First, I die cut the Deckled Circles dies on the Real Red in the bottom right hand corner.

Then, using my brayer, I added Versamark to the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Folder. I then embossed the Real Red. I added gold embossing powder and heat set.

I die cut the layover hearts with the dies using the Most Adored DSP(gold streaks). On Adhesive Sheets! I placed them on top of each heart, cutting off what hung over the outside edge or the circle edge.

I placed a piece of the same DSP behind the circle.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark on Basic White. Gold embossing powder, heat set and die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.

I die cut a big heart and two small hearts using the Most Adored DSP (polka dot).

Happy Birthday with Paint Brushes! NEW PDF!

I bought the Trusty Tools Bundle right away.  I sell cards at events and the #1 thing I’m asked “do you have cards for men?” Man cards aren’t as fancy and sparkly or honestly, even as fun to make, but stamps and dies like this make it easy. Another bonus thing? SAB has a DSP that coordinates with this bundle! Great paper!

For this card, I die cut the big paint brushes from the DSP and fussy cut the smaller ones.

I die cut the piece of Gray Granite twice with the Trusty Tools die- the one that looks like a pegboard.

For the Crushed Curry behind the pegboard, I took a pair of scissors around the edges to give it some “frayed” edges.

“Happy Birthday” is from Hello Kiwi. I honestly think every stamp set should have a “Happy Birthday”! I die cut it and the layer behind it with the Everyday Details dies.

I stamped the paint edge on the bottom of the Basic White to match the paint brushes. Crushed Curry and Lost Lagoon. I then embossed the paper with the Painted Texture folder.

I didn’t want to use brads on the paint brushes- I wanted my card to be pretty flat. So, I used the Monkey punch for the circles and glued those on the paint brush handles.

No Dimensionals on this card!

Measurements:

Lost Lagoon 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″

Basic White 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″

Crushed Curry 4-1/8″ x 1-3/4″

Gray Granite 4-1/8″ x 1-1/2″
