Santa Waving to a Town!

I came up with this idea for a card a few days. And it took me two days to complete it. I changed it a million times.

I stamped and die cut houses, trains and trees and changed my mind on what colors to use 3 times! Here’s a picture to prove that!

I finally decided what colors to use so I started assembling.

In the Window Wishes dies, there are two dies that cut wavy slits into the paper so that you can tuck your houses and trees into it! I double cut both of those in two places. So, four cuts. I wanted the slits to go across most of the paper.

I then colored the background with my Blending Brushes with Soft Sea Foam and Balmy Blue.

I colored the Santa train with Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam, Bronze, and Medium Light Blends markers.

I stamped the puffs of smoke from the Santa’s Delivery with Smoky Slate. I then stamped just one of the “Ho”s in each one. Wait! As soon as I was writing this, I figured a different way. I colored just one of the “ho”s with the Basic Black write marker, stamped that three times, then stamped the cloud on top of it with Smoky Slate and then die cut. They came out better!

For the roofs on the houses, I die cut with Basic White, then embossed with Timber Embossing Folder.

So, if you decided on the colors and how to arrange the houses and trees (I changed that about 6 times), putting it together won’t take long!

Here’s everything I used:

  1. Beautiful card! I saw this and commented on PInterest also. I was curious as to how you did your background. Very sweet card! Love you work!

    1. Hi! I’m sorry that I didn’t see your comment on Pinterest. It never tells me when someone comments! I just went to look and it still says no comments. So frustrating!

Anyways, the background I used the Window Wishes bundle for the houses and trees. There’s also dies in that set that cut a slit in the paper so you can tuck the house and trees in it. I also colored the background with Soft Sea Foam and Balmy Blue with the Blending Brushes. I hope that helps!

      Thank you so much!!
